2023.1 Release 1
New Features
Dimensions and Retail Price now available for Variant Inventory
Products where variants exist and you are tracking inventory on, also known as Variant Inventory, now supports the ability to add dimensions and retail price for those variants that don't quite have the same dimensions as the parent. The MSRP, or retail price field, is also available so you can bring those discounted prices into the cart widget and other relevant pages like category, checkout, etc. Now you can be more flexible with your products and how you promote and calculate shipments. These fields are also available via API.
Payment links can now bypass order limits
We now allow payment links and quote links that are generated from the Order Editor or Quote Editor to bypass any limitations that may have prevented customers from using those links to make a payment. For example, purchase price limits or minimum order quantity limits that may be set on the store can now be bypassed therefore giving additional power to the admin of the store to make exceptions to their own rules. Navigate to Settings > Orders > General > Checkout Settings to enable this new feature.
New Rules for Discounts
We've introduced two new rules for discounts that would be applicable to product statuses and product inventory rules. This means that you can automatically apply discounts for products that reach certain inventory thresholds or have unique statuses like "special order".
Changes to Sitemap Generation
For large product catalogs, a single sitemap can become difficult to manage and may result in URLs not being crawled. E-commerce best practice generally involves creating separate sitemaps for product detail, categories and other pages like blogs which is why we now will generate 5 sitemaps for stores:
- Parent Sitemap
- Product Pages
- Category Pages
- Blog Posts
- Pages
A sitemap index that links to the separate sitemaps will now be generated for these larger catalogs and called a Parent Sitemap. All sitemaps will contain a maximum of 10,000 URLs or be a maximum size of 50MB to allow for improved efforts to audit these pages for what's been indexed or crawled by Google with third party SEO tools and submitting to Google directly. Sitemaps can be generated by calling the SitemapGenerator.aspx page which can be found in your store by navigating to yourdomain.com/store/sitemapgenerator.aspx.
Convert Carts to Quotes
Previously, you could only convert a customer's cart into an order. Now, you'll have the ability to also convert that cart into a quote. Quote's are great for brands that empower sales teams and this feature will unlock the ability to turn those carts that may have not had pricing on products to have a salesman provide a quote with pricing on that customer's pre-built cart.
View Custom URL History Expansion
Now you can view the custom URL history of not just products, but also content pages, blog posts, and categories. Viewing the custom URL history via More Actions on your page/category editor will allow you the option to view the history and when the past URL is set to expire.
Integration Updates
Fixer.io Currency Conversion
A new integration is now available for those that want to display different currencies on a single store by converting those currencies using Fixer.io. You must have an account with Fixer.io to use this service. All areas in the store's front end are controlled by this setting, including areas in My Account, Order Confirmations, Cart, Product Details, Categories, Widgets and more. A currency switcher for this integration is now a native widget for themes to place wherever you'd like! To navigate to this new App, go to your admin and visit Tools > Apps & Addons > Fixer.io Currency Conversion.
Signifyd setting introduced for when to screen an order
We've recently added a Fraud Screening Mode dropdown to allow you to select between Post-Payment Authorization and Pre-Payment Authorization which will determine when you want Signifyd to review your transaction for fraud. When set to Post-Payment Authorization, Signifyd will perform its screening after the order has successfully passed through the payment authorization/capture process.
Google Merchant feeds generated now support SFTP
Due to notice from Google Merchant Center, all feeds will now be generated for using SFTP instead of FTP as they are deprecating their FTP feeds in September of 2023. Here's a guide from Google on how to setup your new feed. If you are currently using our Google Merchant feed, we highly recommend you setup a trial with DataFeedWatch by Cart.com which is integrated with Cart Storefront for even more controls and access to over 2,000+ channels.
Zonos Integration Improvements
We've recently added an Order Complete setting while also adding a setting to support DDP/DDU for each available shipping service. This feature officially supports the store connecting to the Zonos Order Complete API when an order is shipped and even give you the power to enable or disable it. We will also support mapping to available carrier services from the store to carriers listed in their documentation here, of which DDP and DDU will be supported at the carrier level. To use Zonos for your cross border needs and gain access to these new improvements, navigate to Tools > Apps & Add Ons > Zonos.
Avalara Address Validation
Address Validation is now available for customers using Avalara and their service for validating addresses. This will be available on your store's checkout page as well as the order editor in the admin. To enable this feature, navigate to Tools > Apps & Addons > Avalara > Enable Address Validation.
TaxCloud TIC (Tax Code) on Shipments
A setting was recently added to the TaxCloud integration for TaxCloud's shipping codes, or TIC. By default, “11010” will be used but you will now have the option to override this.
FedEx and USPS API Updates
We've recently added support for FedEx's 4 Factor MFA which now requires customers to connect to FedEx using more credentials than we had available in the past. Our integration with USPS was improved to now rely on Class ID's on all available shipping methods other than First-Class Mail Services. This will generate real-time results of the mail services that in the past would change whenever USPS altered the naming conventions of mail services.
Updated Braintree integration
Our integration with Braintree was updated to their most recent SDK v5.14.0 which includes several security enhancements.

Now, will these "New Rules for Discounts" also allow the ability to EXCLUDE specific product statuses, i.e. if we *don't* want "special order" items to be discounted? Asking for a friend...
ALSO: when will this update be applied?

We anticipate rolling out 2023.1 this week but it may take a few weeks to be applied to all our storefronts as we harden/fix any issues that could arise in the process. If you contact support and request an earlier update, they can prioritize your site in our queue.

Sitemaps can be generated by calling the SitemapGenerator.aspx page which can be found in your store by navigating to yourdomain.com/store/sitemapgenarator.aspx.
FYI: We have a test Cart.com store setup that is running version 2023.1.315.3, but when I try to go to /store/sitemapgenarator.aspx on the test domain, it is throwing a 404 error.

Hey Joshua, I just tested on your store and it seems to be working as expected. Could you create a ticket if issue persists?

Has anyone been able to get Datafeedwatch to work? We are trying to use them but the feed is not working. The folks at Datafeedwatch don't seem to know what the issue is. A bit frustrating as they are both Cart companies and the service is supposed to work seamlessly.

Instructions for our Datafeedwatch integration can be found here: https://help.datafeedwatch.com/article/hngne56iij-adding-americommerce
I'll reach out to our support team at DFW and see where you might be getting hung up.

Hey Mason, looks like that issue is now resolved. If there's any feedback you'd have on improvements to the integration once you're up and rolling, please speak up!
