How to Create User Groups
A user group is a collection of users that have the same permissions. User groups can be created, edited, duplicated, and deleted as needed.
Navigate to Storefront > Settings > Security > User Roles/Groups and then click the New button.
The New button will open the User Group Permissions window which looks like the following:
The User Group Permissions have the following fields:
Field |
Description |
User Group Name |
The identifier for the User Group. |
Landing Page Path |
The page the group members will be brought to whenever they login to your brand’s site. This setting is optional. |
Create |
When enabled, allows the user to create the related object/field. |
Read |
When enabled, allows the user to view the related object/field. |
Update |
When enabled, allows the user to make data changes related to the object/field. |
Delete |
When enabled, allows the user to delete related objects/fields. Deleted items cannot be recovered and best practice is to limit this permission as much as possible. |
After customizing your user settings you can finish creating the User Role by clicking Save.
How to Create Users
To create a new user, navigate to Storefront > Settings > Security > Users and click the New button.
Clicking New will open the New User window where all information related to the User will be entered.
Note: Email is the only required field when setting up a new User account.
The user account is created whenever you click Save, and you’ll receive the following message:
Users can be added to the appropriate User Groups from this window as well. A blue checkmark indicates the user is added to the User Group.
Note: If the user is not assigned to any User Groups, they will have no permissions and be unable to view or take actions.
