Further Modernize Customer Front End and UX
PlannedCan we please be able to opt-out of Javascript Libraries, I know there is some stuff you can't the framework reminds me of Apache Tapestry or JSF
- Sites are even more-lazily loading Captcha besides the async defer, to only be included when the user interacts with something that requires it.
- Inconsistent error alerts, some are using jQuery.ready some are not
- I don't use JqueryUI, why do I need it.
- We should have the ability to add at the beginning of the head tag for prefetch
- The Jquery Version should get a bump in version to address XSS
- There are still shims for IE9
- Wishlists and Save to List need More Naming Consistency with the front end and the back end and the ability to have the account side bar.
- There are just too many wacky hacky work-arounds
- Stuff without labels
- Still using input type Image and changing it via javascript breaks the form
- Tables without role="presentation" (even though they shouldn't be), encapsulating "forms" need a role="form"
- Incrementing the quantity of an item already in the cart with too many doesn't roll back quantity and makes the "Checkout" button disappear.
- What is up with the credit card number field!?

This does not have enough upvotes, Is everyone truly satisfied with Americommerce's UI compared to other modern ecommerce platforms out there? I do understand though why AC is particularly difficult, with so many customizable features, I feel that because of this the UI templating would likely need a complete ground-up redesign.
I am currently working on a custom React UI for my B2B store that addresses all of the issues I have with it, because I dont see any indication in AC's output that suggests there are major fundamental UI improvements in the works.
I'm definitely surprised that the community isn't more on board with this concept. if not demanding sets of more modern themes.

I agree that it's going to take a ground-up rebuild. I chose Americommerce MANY years ago because of all the customizable features that other carts didn't offer at that time. Well, other carts are catching up, and surpassing AC in some areas. I still think AC CAN still be a top-notch contender, just not with the current state of things.
