Status update: Fedex Shipping API Down, November 2nd, 2020
We are currently aware of an issue with Fedex Shipping Provider's API. Fedex is currently experiencing issues causing failures when using their services to calculate rates.
This can cause slow site speed issues or timeouts when adding to cart or on the checkout page while also estimating shipping on the product pages.
But don't worry - AmeriCommerce has you covered:
To temporarily resolve this issue we suggest navigating to your Dashboard -> Settings -> Shipping -> Shipping Providers -> Edit Fedex -> De-select Active -> Save.
To keep an eye on the most current status of their API issues please visit: https://www.shippingapimonitor.com/history.html?api=fedex
We also recommend setting up a custom shipping method as a backup. For more information on creating custom shipping methods, see: https://support.americommerce.com/hc/en-us/articles/201905690-Custom-Shipping-Methods.
The fallback setting described in the settings section can also be used:
- Fallback Method: Custom Shipping Methods with Fallback enabled are ONLY used if all enabled shipping providers are temporarily down. They will not be available to the customer in normal circumstances.
UPDATE: 5:20 PM Central: Fedex API rates appear to be stable. There has not been an interruption in two hours so we will go ahead and remove this status update and post a new one if any more issues arise.
