Modern Product Carousel – Mouse Over instead of Click Thumbnails

Americommerce Support,

We'd like to see a more modern product carousel. The most important thing is to mouse over thumbnails (instead of clicking them) to change the main image.

Secondarily a larger main image area. And a more modern lightbox effect, with left and right arrows on the main image (not needing to click arrows in the thumbnail area and then click the thumbnail besides).

There are so many examples out there. We'd like to stay on Americommerce but the product display is behind the times.

  Please provide some examples that you like in the feature request so that we can all see what you mean in context of another website.

  You already have the option to swap the images on hover rather than on clicking the thumbnails:

  

   

  I do agree that having the option to have the main image area act like the slideshow widget does where you can have arrows beside/overlayed on the main image to page through the images and optionally have it auto page through images would be nice.
