Capture funds for items shipped when partial shipment

If an order has multiple items, it would be great for system to capture the amount from that authorization for only the items that were marked as shipped when there is a partial shipment.

 

ie, 2 items on order

Item A sell price = $100

Item B sell price = $50

Item C sell price = $25

 

When adding a shipment to order and selecting only item A has shipped, the authorization would be captured for the line item amount for that item (in this case $100).

When item B is shipped it captures the amount related to item B and still retains its "Partial Shipment" status

When all renaming items on the order are marked as shipped, the remaining balance of the authorization is captured

 

When the next item is shipped

  I don't believe payment merchants allow you to capture multiple times on a single authorization. At least that has been my experience. You would need to re-authorize and capture each time.

  We use Authorize.net right now because they will allow us to hold an authorization for up to 30-days (assuming card issuer will allow it). 90% of the time, all partials have been fulfilled within the 30 days so we can capture everything without a hitch.

  Be interested to see if you run into anything different because the other 10% of the time we have to ask the customer to re-authorize their card again. Nice to avoid that.
