create timed vs date related discount codes/coupons

we would like to be able to send out  automated emails that include time based discounts, so the customer opens the email and sees a code that will expire in 72 hours for example, since the event triggering the emails will be unique in terms of date to each customer, we can't define the discount based on a calendar date
