Scheduled Import - File from URL
It would be great to use Scheduled Import to pull a CSV file from a URL. Right now, this only works on a file that is on our AmeriCommerce account.
Since AmeriCommerce allows no scripting (PHP), we can't pull the files from the other server. Since AmeriCommerce only allows SFTP access, we can't find a way to automate the copy of the CSV files from the other server.-
Why didn't I see this sooner? I'd give it tons of votes if I could.
FYI, I'm managing this right now in a convoluted way... set up a batch file to ftp upload the csv to the server, used Task Scheduler to do run this bat every hour.
Then set up Scheduled import to run hourly, but set the base time so it runs 15 minutes after the batch file. This is where it gets weird - the scheduled import deletes the csv after it imports it, so if the timing is off (which happens on occasion) there's an import error. Usually not a huge deal, since the file should be there the next time it runs.
The option to NOT delete the file after importing it would help a LOT.
Import from URL would fix the many headaches I've had with doing it this way, but maybe someone else can use my method in the meantime - it's better than nothing!

We run a cron job to get the necessary files transferred to the Americommerce server via SFTP.
Sadly, there are simple changes Americommerce could do that would make things much more efficient for their customers...but chooses not to (beyond scheduled import from URL).
A related change is giving more flexibility for timing Scheduled Imports / Exports. Right now, it's :00, :15, :30, and :45. I can't see how offering all 60 minute options would be anything more difficult than changing the drop-down box in the HTML.
