Hi, when i edit my site it automatically updates in real time, before I hit 'activate'. This happens even when i am working in a cloned theme - how do i avoid this??

  The Activate button simply sets the theme you are working on as the active theme on your store. Your edits will be seen in real time no matter what (if you are viewing the theme you're working on)
