How to Handle Groupon Coupons

My client is ready to sign up for Groupon and offer $50 of goods for $25 with the understanding that the full $50 must be used at one time. If a customer buys $45 of product then the order is covered, but there is no balance on the account.

Groupon provides each customer with an individual coupon ID. This means we cannot set up the store with a coupon code that discounts an order by $50 because each person will have a unique ID (which they can use only 1 time). 

 I thought of setting up a custom payment type, but that doesn't look like it does what we want, either.  

 Any ideas?
