Create User Accounts with Temp Password Using API

We are able to create a NEW user account using the APIs, but there is no way to assign a temporary password and then force a new password creation upon first login.

This would be super helpful and ease the process of onboarding new users.

  This has been an issue for us for a while, and not just with the API, creating new users from the admin end doesn't make a password. We have to tell our customers to use the Forgot Password link to make one.

  Ira, can you clarify your request? Do you mean customers or store users?

  Customers.  

   

  "We like to welcome you to our store. Attached is your User ID and Temporary Password."

   

  We can't do this.
