Have different layouts like 2 columns, three columns, with and without header/footer, and other common layouts. But pick this layout style for each page type on a theme. So your product pages may have a top menu, but your content pages may have a different layout altogether.

  The new theme system empowers this very capability. Create 5 column layouts if you like, drag and drop widgets between them, switch layout styles on a per category/product basis. The power is limitless.

  This could be a good project, but I don't entirely understand how it would work as i feel this is already possible by using the custom tab on content pages and checking "Override theme"? - Please review my project for Americommerce Improvement - http://vote.americommerce.com/forums/25843-feature-ideas/suggestions/1295809-element-scheduling-start-end-dates-times-?ref=title
