We've been hard at work on this feature, take a look here: https://www.americommerce.com/customer-rewards-loyalty-points for some details about the current capabilities we've introduced for this feature starting in version 2013.1! 2013.2 includes some more goodies such as the ability to earn points based on social actions, such as sharing via facebook, or by registering as a new customer account, etc.!

I don't think this needs to be integrated with a third party. I would just like the reward points to be logged with the customer's account. Then I can assign a value to points in admin. Like 1000 pts = $5 discount.

this is really important for us going forward. We have been looking at a third party Karmaback which also allows you to grant reward poitns for completing specific social actions(like on facebook, refer friends who like, sign up for newsletter, etc) We are very interested in developing something like this already integrated with AC

I agree that a customer rewards program within A.C. would be so valuable. Many other shopping cart softwares now have them. Many top notch e-tail companies already have great rewards programs that are increasing ther ROI's. Our customers are constantly asking us for a rewards/incentive/loyalty program. An affiliate program can be tailored for customers referring customers but it does not reward them for their own purchases. I see this has 36 votes already before my vote...anybody else interested? Either A.C. should create this or if there is enough interest, it could be an affordable DevShare. What do you think?

I would like to see a rewards point system available within AmeriCommerce. I have multiple storefronts and would like to cross promote my stores by offering rewards - if you spend $100 in store A you can get $5 off in store B... something like that. We should have the ability to assign points to the amount spent (with or without shipping), and then assign a dollar amount to the points. There should also be a minimum redemption requirement - 1,000 pts req'd before pts can be redeemed. Then, during checkout allow the customer to pay with points, when available, and when minimums are met. It is important for me that this rewards system is compatible for users between stores - if they spend $100 at store A and $100 at store B, they can use the points at whatever store they choose. This is a HUGE feature, and would be VERY helpful to retain customers.

WE really need this. $1-1 reward point or something like that. I have been using some other reward point system for other cart systems and my customers really increases. And it increased my customer retention rate by a whopping 20%!! they come back for more sales and use their reward points as well. This features is already available in some other cart systems and I do hope americommerce do take this into serious consideration

I think this would really increase customer loyalty and would be a great way to reward customers who continue to order from our store.

Maybe instead of developing a rewards system from the ground up, AmeriCommerce can find a good third-party rewards system to integrate with - something that is priced right for small businesses, but powerful enough to handle all of our needs. I still would like to see this feature for cross-promoting my stores to customers.

This is a great idea and needs to be pursued. Rewards could be points or just a percentage of the sale, i.e. 1% of your sale goes to a fund you can use on future purchases. Another thing is the ability to grant discounts if they tweet, share or whatever on various social media outlets. I have used this on other sites and it is an awesome way to promote social media sharing. Works like - "Share this xxxx on Facebook and save 3%" "Tweet this xxxx on Twitter and save 3%"...etc...

Nate S - What did you use on the other sites where you have this functionality?

I would like to see the rewards system built inside AmeriCommerce with similar features as those offered by rewardstream.com or referralcandy.com. However, if that isn't practical I would at least like to see easy integrations with these services via apps. BigCommerce and 3dCart both offer these types of apps.

This is needed ASAP. We've tried to convince our customers that the Affiliate Program is just as good, but they aren't biting. We've used the Affiliate module for a couple of years now, but customers want a rewards program. And in our industry, all of our competitors are doing this so it's becoming more and more an issue for us.

One thing that separates AmeriCommerce from other cart platforms is multi-store support. And, with a rewards system that allows users to receive credit for purchases in each store, this feature would really help merchants cross promote their stores... the marketing possibilities are endless!

500friends.com offers a much more advanced set of functions but it needs integration with AC to allow a single sign on. Magento and the other competitors below are moving faster with integrations.

Has this been approached as a dev share development? I would think at this point there would be enough merchants on board to pay for a custom development.

And, even integration into a third party service such as 500friends.com, would be nice as a dev share custom development... as opposed to a stand along solution within AmeriCommerce.

The development is relatively easy for Americommerce and a bit overdue. To remain competitive, this is a standard feature in every other major shopping cart. They all already offer it. Integrating a 3rd party service is cheap and ineffective. Develop it and own it.

p.s. I have been asking Americommerce for this feature for four years.....

From direct experience, with other sites I own on other hosts, site owners should not expect a huge wave of business because of this feature being available. But you will see sticky business from this feature, which is a very good thing.

It's already specced and development is under way. It's a big feature that spans 2 other large features so it's coming together carefully. It has some really great features in it though and has lots of ways to give points out, it combines with the new front end profile system we are launching and even has ties to the new blog system. Really great stuff!

thank goodness. PLEASE PLEASE see if there is a manner in which to add reward points to a customer's account manually or by bulk import. IE: Some of us are migrating from another platform in which customers have built up loads of reward points. They will be devastated if they lose them. Otherwise if you would come up with advice as how to convert points to something they could use in AC. Thank you very much for starting to fill in the gaps you have and building AC to be the very finest.

It is also important to consider the multi-store functionality, and the ability to reward points in one store and redeem them in another. This will allow multi-store operators to cross promote other products.
