Create a customer editable AC Wiki (25)
As a platform, AmeriCommerce has many different uses and ways to customize. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to find related information on customizing or implementing code, especially as a new store owner. The current knowledge base can be outdated and requires AC staff to maintain.
There are many times when the current Knowledge base articles are helpful, and other times when it only leads to more questions. This leads users to search the outdated forum software in hopes of finding a previously posted question or solution. Further still, if a support ticket is opened, the social sharing of knowledge is lost and only creates extra work for customers and staff when answering the same "how-to" many times.
I am suggesting an official AC Wiki that can be edited by staff, verified customers, and developers. It would allow customers and staff to share their knowledge and experiences while working with the AC platform and hopefully reduce time to implement and the learning curve associated with any software.

I second that information is hard to find. For example, a search of "SQL" in the Knowledge Base seems to bring up no related results. The first article that comes up is "HOW TO: Fix product images and pictures that display blurry or fuzzy" 0 -
@Jennie - the search function is horrible. I frequently use Google's site:myamericommerce.com function to locate info. This is a strong case for AC to implement Google's Custom Site Search in place of the current onsite search function. I've used the p 0 -
How about adding this to AC PLUS giving us the ability to create one for our own stores? I was just looking at something like gro.up I think it was? I googled creating a WIKI and found it. I would love a way to create a community atmosphere for the customers so they could help solve one another's iisues. PLUS I really don't care for forums. I agree, searching the KB is rather disquieting here at AC...users helping users is generally the preferred method for many a community. 0 -
It was GROU.PS that I found......... interesting idea. 0
