Shipping Estimate should look at variants for weight (4)

Currently the Shipping Estimator does not look at the weight field within the selected variant when an item has variants; it just looks at the base weight of the item. This makes the estimator essentially useless if the weight of the variant differs greatly from the base item. Please consider changing the logic to grab the weight of the variant selected before estimating the shipping cost.

  Variant weights are working properly for us, the shipping estimate pulls the weight of the specified variant.

  Since Shawn confirmed the shipping estimator currently uses the variant weight, I am wondering if the following Feature Request would help you...It suggests using both variant weight and dimensions for shipping.
