Bulk Attribute Edit (16)
I'm not sure why Attributes are not separate entirely from products export as they are extremely hard to update in bulk. If just exported the products export and looked at the column where attributes are displayed. Brand~Armstrong~~True|Size~12x12~~False|Color~Black~~False... Unlike custom fields it's nearly impossible to easily extract or bulk edit this data without advanced separation of the data using multiple problems like excel and notepad. So I suggest making it possible or explaining how I would easily manage or update a store that had 10,000+ skus. The current method would take months because when you export to view they are not in order. So depending on how the data was entered, on one row it would be Brand first and then the next row it might be Size first then Brand 2nd. So you can't easily look at them as if they were in distinct columns. If they were aligned just as custom fields are maybe even in a separate export/import this would solve the problem. You would just have the product name and id to the left so you knew what you were looking at.

Attributes should be handled on one page (without having to save/click new/sort separately) and should have a lot more functionality. Adding and removing and merging attributes in Excel is too difficult. Also attributes should be able to be used in the menu navigation. This meta data is critical to be handled efficiently and quickly. 1 -
Attributes should be handled like CategoryListIDs where you can upload & export them by the AttributeID. This would make them easier to manage. Example do this 123|456|789 instead of Brand~Armstrong~~True|Size~12x12~~False|Color~Black~~False 1 -
Definitely. The way Americommerce handles Attributes is fine for very small stores with very little inventory but it becomes seriously unfriendly when you have a lot of items and you are trying to keep your metadata and attributes in order.
Even using the CSV to edit your inventory, due to the way it is formatted using text rather than IDs, updating attributes is especially unfriendly to mass editing. I really like Ryan's suggestion of possibly using AttributeIDs to make them easier to manage.
