FEATURE: Ability to Earn Reward Points based on Social Sharing Actions
Customers now have the ability to earn Rewards Points based on Social Sharing Actions.
The following social actions are supported:
* Liking on Facebook
* Sharing on Facebook
* Sharing on Twitter
* Pinning on Pinterest
Liking on Facebook relies on the ## FACEBOOKLIKEBUTTON ## (or similar) merge code.
The others rely on AddThis via the ## SOCIALBOOKMARKS ## merge code. (it will still work with the default AddThis code or custom AddThis code as long as the merge code is used.)
Important Notes: Sharing on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest depend on the AddThis API. At this time the AddThis API does not confirm a user's share. This means that customers are rewarded points without knowing if they have shared or not. For example, a user could click the Twitter Icon and close the window before tweeting and still be awarded the points. This is a limitation of AddThis.
The Facebook Like action uses Facebook's API for the Like Button and does wait until the "Like" is confirmed.
The reward settings are in Stores > Store Name > Rewards

Reward Settings:

Individual Action Settings:
You set whether or not to give points for the action, how many points, and whether the action is repeatable or not. If it is repeatable, put the number of days they must wait before repeating. Enter 0 to make it unlimited.

Front End:
This is shown when the customer is not eligible to receive the points based on the Repeat # of Days
