Add the ability to have multiple layouts on a theme for the product and category pages, then you can select any of the active layouts on a per product or category basis, effectively overriding the default layout and allowing you to style particular categories differently than others. Example: Electronics category can be a 4 column multi row list of items, but the furniture category can be large images/4 per page, etc.

  This is done guys! 2012.3! It makes use of the new theme and layout system on v2 themes! Works with content pages as well. I'll try to remember to cross link the blog post when we get some screenshots and such in play. Score another for the community voting!

  This is ideal for any site that has a variety of produst types for sale. Some products are best shown in a table format so that they can be more easily compared, other products are more effectively displayed individually. This change will give your site much more flexibility.
