Edit Themes & CSS Natively With Standard Files (6)
CompletedEdit theme pages and css with standard files, keep the backend UI, but load the files for editing instead of only being database driven. This allows more extensive use of external file editor applications and you won't have to manage external file references like you do today. You pick between editing files or editing it via the admin...both work.

Why not just implement a "theming" ability, like modern CMS's (Wordpress, joomla, drupal). It would reduce the amount of tinkering through multiple pages. A wordpress structure may work best as Americommerce could have default files for each page type, ie:Homepage.php, category.php, single.php, etc.. For those who want to go through a "Wizard" or the current admin console can edit these files that way or those who want to upload their own theme can do so without having to mess with all those settings. By "Theming", one can be more sure a site is loaded without table, or has a proper heading structure, and that css styles work globally instead of having to go element by element as it is now. 0
