Element Scheduling (Start/End Dates & Times) (62)
Goal: To support more coordinated marketing efforts with out the need for constant updates and user input. With the following updates the Americommerce system would be able to automate elements for seamless marketing campaigns.
Work Step:
Allow the input of start & end dates including the time of day on marketing essential elements.
Elements that require scheduling:
-Discount Methods
-Snap-ins
-Content pages
-Link Groups & Individual Link Elements
When elements are out of date/time range the element should not appear on page, essentially going into "hide" mode like a snap-in. Elements should not delete from admin back-end to allow re-use or tracking.

Great Idea. This feature is key to any marketing campaign. Without this feature store fronts require 24 hour attention which is nearly impossible. Any store that uses any form of marketing/promotion needs to be able to coordinate their efforts automatically. 0 -
HollyR & brandon - Being able to schedule all the elements will improve everyone's experience with Americommerce and professionalize storefronts. Messages in Imagery and discounts will always be coordinated improving convrsion rates! The greatest effect from this the ability to work ahead and have time to concentrate on creating the next"BIG" promotion or marketing campaign or improve site features and design elements or even have time to improve customer service or other procedures. BUT...as it stands, none of it is possible. Due to real time implementation the system requires constant attention. I really hope this feature gets picked up! 0 -
We already have the DATEBETWEEN conditional mergecode that can give you somewhat close functionality over displaying elements/snapins on your pages ##IF[DATEBETWEEN=12/7/2010 AND 12/8/2010]## Put whatever you want here. ##ENDIF## This would allow you to only display certain content (which can be html, including mergecodes, snap-in mergecodes, etc) between the 2 dates. 0 -
@Ryan Olson Although that ability exists it is very intensive and requires a lot of upkeep. Not to mention it does not allow for precise timing. For many sotres being able to control the time of day a sale, promotion, or element is visible is very imp 0 -
Great idea. I do the bulk of my email marketing in January...everything get's planned, written and scheduled for delivery. Having to remember to go turn on the discounts is a problem. 0 -

Having this feature will make managing discount methods a lot easier. It is very time consuming to manage them without the ability to categorize, sort or filter. I think this is really required in a multi store platform like americommerce. 0 -
This would be a huge time-saver for any shop. I'd love to be able to schedule a start and stop for sale pricing on individual products, categories of products, sitewide banners/ads, etc. 0
