We requested a quote from support to add USPS address validation and we got back a figure of $3500 and approximately 6 months for it to be added to a stable release. The was a bit more than we wanted to swollow on our own, but may be a good dev share opportunity.

This is an old one, but voting for it none the less. Would be great for the customer entered shipping address to be validated against the USPS database(s) for accuracy.

We just got hit with 2 UPS address correction charges last week, and it is becoming more common. This would help tremendously.

Look at the apps and add on section there is a product called smarty streets that does address verification - and if you use shipworks they also automatically check the address for it being valid. AC development is to expensive for one person to handle - it really needs to be a group project.

The Spark Pay integration with Smarty Streets is an absolute joke. The reason I say that is because the integration only works in the admin when your taking a phone order and does not work on the front end website where customers place their own orders. I spoke with Smarty Streets about this when I was setting it up and they couldn't fathom why Spark Pay integrated with them in such a half way manner as all their customers have integrated fully except Spark Pay and this was a first for them in seeing a half way integration. I think Smarty Streets offers exactly what this feature request is looking for if only Spark Pay would fully integrate instead of integrating with them in the most useless way. I mean since it's a half way integration, wouldn't you think it would be most important for it to work on the front end before the back end especially for an "e"-commerce software. As Smarty Streets said, the integration is there, Spark Pay just did it in a half way manner which is unheard for Smarty Streets until I brought it to their attention.

FWIW, Spark Pay has told me that they're hoping to release a full integration with Smarty Streets sometime early 2016.

I believe the Smarty Streets integration is almost there. I was just looking at it and it works except the buttons that the customer would use to either select to proceed with current address or use the suggested address do not work, but it is checking for verification. I hope this gets done soon as it will be a huge improvement.

It was there until I opened a ticket that it wasn't working. However, it's not the same feature that user have been voting on here. There is a major difference. The users have been voting for Real-Time address verification which would be a whole lot better because, once a customer clicks place order, you don't want anything to prevent that order from going through. I was not happy when I saw that customers had to click Place order at the bottom of the page before being notified of any address verifications at the top of the page. Just look at the error that's happening now that could easily prevent orders from going through leading to abandoned carts. Who's to say that same error or another wont happen again? How many abandoned carts do you want to get before realizing there is another error?

I actually submitted this 7 years ago. I would be willing to share the costs of the custom dev to get this to happen.
