Seems like a no-brainer, but considering the fact that bandwidth allocation is a revenue source for AC, I doubt this will ever get looked at. 0 -
@Blake - While this may be true initially, well-supported features for the masses are sure to bring in more customers in the long run. In fact, many of AC's customers based their decision to switch based on one feature: Multi-store. 0 -
We have been using this for awhile (over a year) and it has done the trick. In the last few months our safetystore.com has had fits when we access the backshop area and the Cloudflare is active Was fine before some AC Update). But doesn't have this problem on any of our other AC site we access. But if I pause SafetyStore.com (in cloudflare) I use an extra 3-6 gigs per month. Over all when all sites are using Cloudflare we save about 10 gigs. per month It has cut down on a lot of data-mining by scrapers and protects against attacks. The extra traffic is not from customers -it's unwanted Bots unusually on spam and exploit directories. 0 -
When we all add a multi-store it does not come with any bandwidth, it just shares the package pool. We had suggested last year a slight increase in the monthly multi-store price to include a gig or two of bandwidth each. It would help us all stay within our bandwidth limits until the sites really take off. Less guessing and pre-buying each month. 0 -
We have been using CloudFlare for about 6 months. It has significantly decreased our bandwidth usage while increasing page load times and customer satisfaction. Works great once we figured out that we needed to exclude pages like the wishlist, shopping cart and checkout. 0 -
I have moved all our site images to amazon cloudfront. In December we transferred 75GB and got a $144 bill from Americommerce for bandwidth. I calculated the cost to transfer that amount on amazon s3 and it was around $7 so I moved all our images to S3. S3 is slow so after that I added cloudfront in front of our S3 bucket. The price for 75GB would be about $16 and the site load time has gone from averaging around 6s to under 2s. I use protocol independent urls in our product images so they serve fine over http and https and saves a little money as I believe cloudfront charges more for https requests. This is a great solution that does not require you to host your SSL cert on their servers like with cloudflare. Because this worked so well I am removing my votes from this item. 0 -
