Give option for coupon discount to not be combined with any other discounts (ie quantity discounts or other coupons).
I offer quantity discounts on most items in my store. I also email coupons every week. I don't want to have to remove the quantity discounts from the store because not everyone gets the email and quantity discounts are one of my major selling points.
Right now I put "not valid with any other offer" on the coupon emails, and few people order enough to trigger the quantity discount. But I have a few customers who have figured out they can do this and get away with it who now deliberately wait for the right coupon to come in then buy huge quantities to get the biggest discount. These particular orders have little or no profit left after the double-dipping.

i think this is a great option to add. people who are creative with their marketing efforts will definitely use this. 0 -
I also think this is a good suggestion. Currently cannot figure out how to provide a site-wide sale and limit the use of a coupon during the sale. 0 -
The discount methods needs a rule option that says 1- Do not combine with out discounts or 2- Combine Discount with discount x, y, z. (I can see how sometimes you might want to be able to choose to stack certain coupons- like a free shipping with a 10% off) Right now, it's kind of random which coupons stack. 0 -
I totally agree. We usually have multiple offers out there and some of our customers have figured the shortcoming of the system and started entering multiple coupon codes to get combined discounts. 0 -
This is a great request. I just wanted to point out a couple things @Anonymous x2 Coupon codes don't stack. Only one "Coupon Code" can be entered and applied to the cart at a time. @David Simcho One idea might be to turn off the "Accept Coupons" while you are running the sale. This will atleast stop customers from being able to enter the coupon. (if they've already entered it before disabling it will still be applied to the cart) 0 -
Specific discounts for specific customer types has been mission critical to our Company for 21 years. We are not sure what we are going to do. 0 -
@Anonymous Unless there is more detail that I'm unaware of, you can specify discounts to certain a certain customer type. 0 -
Anyone ever get anywhere with this one? The only thing that is holding me back from turning on qty discount pricing is the fact that discounts get applied on the new pricing. So, if someone orders 6 of something and they have a coupon code they are going to get a double discount. I don't know if we could do anything that forces discounts to only apply to orders where the base price is not adjusted? 0 -
I agree, especially if you are using the adcode feature they can still use a coupon. There needs to be a floor price feature. For example if you have an adcode that takes 20% off and you have a 20% off coupon coupon floating around they still can get both discounts. But if you had a floor price option like there is for base price, retail price and your cost. You could set a maxim discount price and have it pop up like when a coupon that does not work. That says maximum discount applied you received an additional X% off. 0 -

But I do think it would be easiest to just have a checkbox when you create a discount code that says "do not combine with any other discounts". Problem solved. And whoever said you can't double coupons - true, but I remember when an adcode and a coupon were treated as the same thing, so I still think of adcodes as "coupons" - once upon a time you could send out emails with a matching adcode and coupon code, and the customer could use one or the other, but not both. Now, they can use both. Sadly, I've not used adcodes since then. :( 0 -
6 year old request with lots of votes. Still not possible. Sad.
