SSL Everywhere - All Dynamic Links, API, Feeds, & Media-List Src (23)
CompletedHey all, pretty straightforward request here - Please allow an option to use SSL on all pages, links, feeds, src's, etc in the store. I dont see any other SaaS doing this yet. For more information you can see the video from Google I/O and their recent announcement that SSL everywhere will give better ranking signals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBhZ6S0PFCY

We've actually had this setting for some time, but it wasn't exposed in the UI. We've added the ability for you to set this yourselves in 2015.3 Read more here: http://www.americommerce.com/release-history/UPDATE-2015-3-Added-option-Force-Https-in-Settings -
The video says its not a ranking signal, but they changed their mind: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2014/08/https-as-ranking-signal.html And yes, it literally means SSL everywhere. The video above suggests NOT using htaccess for this either, instead send the STS header. In php for example it would look like this, above the controller right in the index.php: header('Strict-Transport-Security: max-age=31536000'); The max age acts like a "cache" and tells browsers to remember to use only https mode for, in this case, 1 year. 0 -
This is a ranking signal: https://www.seroundtable.com/google-ssl-https-ranking-signal-18966.html 0 -
I'd like to see this as an option on the store settings as well 0 -
FYI, This is now a ranking signal and set to become stronger this year: http://www.searchenginejournal.com/everything-seos-need-know-googles-new-stance-https/124454/ I would suggest this become a high priority. 0 -
