Overview
Under certain conditions, it is possible to display prices as a range rather than a fixed price. How this range is calculated and where it is displayed depends on the setting enabled.
Price Ranges for Category, Manufacturer, Attribute, Widgets, and Search Pages
To enable price ranges for these pages, first navigate to Settings > Catalog > General and check Show Min and Max Price for Group and Variant Inventory Products.
When this setting is enabled, a range from the lowest to highest price found will be displayed for parent products in a product group and products with variant inventory. The product group must be the type "Sell Items Individually Parent Is Info Only".
Price Ranges for Product Details Page
To enable price ranges for these pages, first navigate to Settings > Catalog > General and check Enable Price Ranges on Product Details Page.
When this setting is enabled, a range from the lowest to highest price found will be displayed for simple variants (not variant inventory). As variants are selected the price range will be updated until all variants are filled in.
Note that checkbox list variants will not initially be added to the price range, but once options are selected the range will be updated to account for selected options. Dropdown variants will need to have default text, as without it the first dropdown option is selected and if all variants have been selected no range will show.
Once all the variants have been selected the final price will show. This is the price that will be used when the product is added to the cart.
