Overview
The Tell a Friend feature allows shoppers to email friends and family links to product pages.
Step 1: Add Tell a Friend Merge Code
Navigate to Themes > Edit Theme > Product Details > HTML Editor, then search for the ##TELLAFRIEND## merge code. If its not there, add it to the desired location.
On some themes, the merge code is there, but commented out. If so, remove the HTML comment tags. The Tell a Friend link will now be visible on the product details page:

Step 2: Configure Email Template
Once the form is submitted, an email will be sent to the recipients. A default template is setup for you in Navigate to Marketing > Email Templates > Tell a Friend; however, if you wish to make changes, here are the available merge codes:
Email Subject:
- ##SUBJECT## - Displays subject customer entered into form
Email Body:
- ##COMMENT## - displays the commentss entered by the customer who submitted the form
- ##FROMEMAIL## - Displays the email address of the customer who submitted the form
- ##FROMNAME## - Displays the name of the customer who submitted the form
- ##STORENAME## - Displays the store name of the store form submitted on
- ##PAGEURL## - Display link to the page form submitted on
- ##DOMAINNAME##- Displays the domain name of the store Tell a Friend form submitted on
Step 3: Edit Form and "Thank You" Message
The content included with the "Tell a Friend" feature can be edited in your "Store Text and Languages."
- To get started, navigate to Content > Power Features > Store Text and Languages.
- Search for "TellAFriend"
- Edit the relative key to change the value. For example, the message seen after submitting the form is the "TellAFriend_ThankYouMessage_string"
