Overview
Your store can automatically calculate shipping based on FedEx negotiated rates. In order to set this up, you'll first need to input a FedEx meter number into FedEx's Shipping Provider settings in AmeriCommerce. This article will walk you through that process.
Step 1: Get Meter Number from Fedex
Go to http://www.fedex.com/us/developer/web-services/office/index.html. You will be redirected to the following page:
Log in using your FedEx account credentials. After logging in with your FedEx.com account information, navigate to FedEx Office Web Services > Certification, and then click Get Product Key:
You will now be taken to this page:
Fill in the specified information in the highlighted fields and then click “Continue”. You will be taken to this page:
Click “I Accept” to agree to the terms and conditions for FedEx, and you will then be taken to this page:
You will see your new meter number in the highlighted section. NOTE: you will need whatever meter number that FedEx provides, this meter number is for instructional purposes only.
Write this information down and/or save it, because it will not be displayed again.
Step 2: Input Meter Number into AmeriCommerce
After getting the meter number from FedEx, login to your AmeriCommerce Online store admin console and navigate to Settings > Shipping > Shipping Providers > FedEx:
Enter your new meter number under the Password field for the FedEx record. Click Save. Note: your shipping account number will not change.
