Overview
Ensuring smooth and transparent operations is imperative for us and our merchants. This article elucidates the introduction of a new fee pertaining to the use of non-Nuvei payment gateways.
Gateway Activation Delay
When activating a Non-Nuvei payment gateway, you will have a two day waiting period before you can apply the new payment gateway to your store. When activating the gateway, you will receive a message to let you know the specific time that you can apply the new gateway to your store.
Additional Processing Fee
Starting October 1st, 2023, when you expand payment processing services by adding a payment gateway other than Nuvei, we will invoke a Processing Fee on the processing volume through that newly added gateway. This applies to all customers of AmeriCommerce by Cart.com. The processing fee will be based on your Plan level and invoiced on the following month that the volume subject to fees were processed. Please refer to the table below for processing rates per plan level:

If you are using Nuvei as the gateway to process your credit card transactions, you will not receive an additional processing fee.
Nuvei Processing Rates
Opting to use Nuvei as your payment processor will allow exclusive rates for our platform, based on your plan level. Nuvei is a secure and reliable payment processing solution that allows you to accept payments from customers, with rates starting as low as 2.25% + 30¢ per transaction. See the table below for more details on rates:

FAQs
Q: I am already using a payment gateway that is not Nuvei. Will I be charged this processing fee?
A: If your payment gateway was added before October 1st, 2023, that payment gateway's transactions would not be subject to the fee.
Q: Can I switch to Nuvei to avoid the fee?
A: Yes. Make sure to apply the Nuvei gateway to all stores. Fees will only be charged on transactions processed from payment gateways that are not Nuvei.
Q: Can I upgrade my account to lower the fee?
A: Yes, You can request to upgrade your plan from your storefront dashboard's My Account page. The fee should reflect the lower rate on the next full billing cycle.
Q: How is the fee applied?
A: Billing will be invoiced the following month, similar to other "On-Demand Licensing" for Legacy plans.
Q: Does this fee apply to alternative/express payment methods?
A: No, This only applies to Payment Gateways. Alternative payment methods, such as Paypal Checkout, would not be subject to the additional fee.
