Google base multi sites one account

I have 6 AC websites and need to know if I have to get 6 individual accounts to make the feed work or can I just use one main account. I keep getting error messages that the domain name does not match.

Any thoughts, I am very new to all the cool free stuff in the Google Webmaster and since sales suck right now I need to pull out all the stops.

Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful. I have a lot of tweaking left to do to get our sites where they need to be.

Subscription/Recurring Orders

Do you support subscriptions or recurring billing? For example, a "wine of the month" subscription where the user signs up for a program to get sent products periodically and is billed periodically as well. I was looking aronud the system and couldn't seem to find this. Is this part of the roadmap?

Just curious if anyone is doing this. Bing is like jellyfish, you provide a discount, then Bing splits it with the customer. My problem with this is that I can't do the same percentage with all the products. I would need a feed that I can check off which products will upload, and which won't.

Mege Codes in Mailing List

I have several websites, all of which are on Google Adwords. One of them, www.NoPins4Baby.com, I've had for 1.5 years and it still doesn't have the sales I think it should, compared to my other stores. When I look through the analytics on Adwords, I see some interesting things.

The ads for this store were identical to my main store. The ads for my main store (www.ClothDiaperOutlet.com) receive HALF the impressions as NoPins, but more than TWICE the click-throughs. The only difference, literally, was the website address shown in the ad. This has me wondering...do people not like to see a numeral in the website address? I also own the domain nopinsFORbaby.com and I'm thinking of switching. Changing nothing at all about the store except the website address.

SEO-wise...is this a better option? Should I leave it alone? I have a support ticket in about this and they suggested it might better to have the nopinsFORbaby but they also thought I should ask here to see what others (Jason in particular) thinks.

3rd Party Gift Card Integration?

Has anyone ever used or is aware of a 3rd party gift card solution? We would like to offer Gift Cards on our site. I saw there is a devshare with AC still outstanding for it but the development costs are pretty extensive.

Our Initial Review of GoDataFeed

We wanted to customize our Google Base feed, so as recommended by AC, we signed up with GoDataFeed. So far it has been two or three weeks, and we are getting error message from Google every day. It has been pretty frustrating.

First of all, we did set up some custom attributes. (By the way, the drop-down menu option of the custom field still does not save properly, but that is another topic.) GDF does not format your attribute titles for you, so you will need to format them yourself exactly as Google instructed before you send them over, otherwise, you get a broken feed.

When we sent the attributes over, we explained that some of them have fixed values and some of them will have values from AC API. After two days, we had an error message, and found GDF put the one fixed value to the attribute title. So, we had to tell them to fix it.

The next day, we found our tax and shipping attributes are not correct. So, we have to go back, find out how to format the value for these two attributes, and send it over to GDF again to fix it.

Then, we found there are 18 of our attributes missing values! For sure we have the information, cause it is on the product pages, so we had to open another trouble ticket with GDF. They said they will need to talk to AC, but did not give me a time frame. It has been two weeks and our feeds are still broken!

Their custom service is nice and they reply the trouble ticket pretty fast, but every time there is an error in your feeds, it is about 24 hours turnarond time, which means you lose at least two days' sales. It is really frustrating for me at this moment, and I wish I could just do it myself , as I have done all the homework on the all the attributes. GDF claims that they are effective feeds management and they optimize, but the truth is they do upload your feed, but they do not even check what is in there. If we did not look closely, they would have been uploading our feeds with blank or wrong information all the way through.

Help someone else here would have a better solution.

Shopping Portals

I've been using some shopping portals since last fall. The three I started with (Become.com, Froogle, Shopzilla.com) all had pretty good returns. So I signed up with GoDataFeed to take advantage of more portals. But so far, I've had almost zero return except from my original three.

Are there any other portals that you have had success with? I'm tired of randomly spending money hoping to find a portal that is worth the money. I've tried half a dozen and burned through a few hundred dollars for absolutely no sales. Currently I'm trying Amazon Product ads but I've had nothing from there. Good traffic, but no conversions. I'm thinking Amazon shoppers are bargain hunters and my store pretty much follows turnkey pricing.

Noticed something funny with the sitemap / robots.txt file. The sitemap for the store is located at http://www.glasspendantstore/store/ level. The robots.txt file is located at http://www.glasspendantstore.com/robots.txt . When I do the robots.txt analysis at Google Webmaster Central, it indicates the following:

robots.txt URL	http://www.glasspendantstore.com/robots.txt
Last downloaded	March 7, 2007 8:52:10 AM PST
Status	404 (Not found) [?]

And indicates that:

This site is not located at the top level for the domain. A robots.txt file is only valid when located in the highest-level directory and applies to all directories within the domain.

Any ideas if this is a problem and if so, how to correct it?

Integrating Live Chat Support

Has anyone successfully integrated live help on their AC website? If so, what software or service are you using. I have been experimenting with some freeware but it is php/mysql so it had to be installed on another server. This causes some issues with the checkout security because the third party server doesn't support https currently.

Just looking for some afforable options that CAN be installed on AC's servers.

Including Affiliate Codes in Generating "Add to Cart Links"

Email Drip Functionality

I am trying to create an email follow up for 30 days after a customer makes a purchase. Couple questions:

1) Is the drip system setup to be a time period after they become a customer or after each order. If an existing customer re-orders, will they get another 30 day follow up email?

2) When I set this drip email in place, will it send emails to my past customers that purchased over 30 days ago?

Sourcing Email List Providers

Hi all,

Thought we could all network here in terms of experiences with email list providers. To date we have used three brokers and the results have been dismal. We also played arounf with the traffic sites - the ones that send you X amount of visitors for a flat fee. Of course it is junk traffic, but we were interested in any effects for SEO purposes....there was none.

Anyway, we would love to hear of any white list brokers out there that actually have a responsive list. Anyone have any contacts?

Building Customer Loyalty

Overall I am pleased with Americommerce features. There have been a few recent glitches and I am still disappointed by them not having 24/7 live phone support.

One of the areas we are looking at right now that a few other cart providers have are loyalty building features. Just wanted to see if anyone has heard of these two features being developed anytime soon on Americomerce?

First one: Rewards points feature - allowing you to aggregate customer purchases to build toward a 'coupon' value. This is huge right now in our vertical and not having the feature is starting to hurt us.

Second: Auto-Ship feature - for products a customer orders on a regular basis, they can set up a fixed order for a variable period. We had this on our old host, but lost it moving to Americommerce. I asked Am about it and they wanted to charge to develop it which I was not thrilled about as it was free on my old host.

Anyone hear of these in development? Our site is spaskin.com and again we have a lot of competitors with these features so I am just trying to plan what we should do in the near future..

Also, any buzz on the Bill Me Later payment service being offered as payment type?

Third Party Shopping Portals

I would like to see more integration with Third Party Shopping Portals and Comparison sites as well as enhanced tools for the existing Portals.

Amazon, ebay, shopzilla, Yahoo, Google etc. all have different requirements. Making the tool more flexible based on their requirements, would be very helpful when marketing through these sites.

I know the tool cannot meet the needs of every third party site, however enhancing for the ones listed would be great.

Affiliate Links with Discount

I am setting up affiliates and would like to offer a special discount for those customers coming from the affiliate sites. So we can say "since you are a customer of XX Company, you get 10% off." Is there a way to accomplish this with code in the affiliate link rather than requiring the customer to enter a coupon code?

I am using a 3rd party mailing list company. I have created a link in my right column to sign up which is fine. At the same time I have un-checked the "newsletter request" in store settings.

However when a customer registers the opt-in box still shows. So my question is two-fold:

1) How do I get rid of the "opt-in" link?

2) Or how do I set up the opt-in link on the registration page to go to my third party company?
