Who will benefit?
A. Every AC customer that sells products and would like a new sales/income stream.

Basic brief:
To enable
customers to purchase gift certificates, which can be emailed to a
recipient, and used as a form of payment on the AC storefront.

Benefits:
- Capture gift sales, particularly during Christmas period
- Customer acquisition: Gift recipients become NEW customers!
- Capture corporate sales (staff incentives etc)
- Use certificates as sales incentives for your existing customer
base. i.e. Spend $x and receive a $x certificate for your next purchase.
- Certificate redemption reporting - measure certificate profitability

Example uses:

1/ Send [GIFT CERTIFICATE EMAIL TEMPLATE] ,to [all customers that
have opted in to newsletters.] AND [all customers that have not
purchased for], [greater than 180 days] of [STORENAME]

2/ Bulk generate certificate codes and merge them into an offline or online direct mail piece.

Example orders:
- A corporate customer would call us and say: Please send out (via email or print mail) 50x $50 vouchers for store 'X' with an expiry date of 'X'. (i.e. 50 different recipients/cert-codes generated on the one
order)

- Alternatively, a customer could simply buy multiple certificates on the front-end storefront (add them to their cart), and assign an email address (a recipient) to each of the certificates and checkout.

Notes:
To be clear, these are NOT coupon codes. (although they do share some similarities)

Unlike an existing coupon code - the gift
certificate is a unique code, and a form of tender (like a credit
card). It is tied to a customer account, therefore if a customer only
spends a portion of their certificate the balance is retained for their
next purchase.

Security & limited liabilty: unlike a coupon code, a certificate code can only be used once - period. Whereas a coupon code can only be set to be used once 'PER CUSTOMER'.

Unlike an existing coupon code - a gift
certificate can be purchased by a customer and sent/given to a NEW customer!

Funding:
We are prepared to contribute several thousand dollars to get this completed by end of Oct 09 in order to take advantage of this years peak holiday/gifting period. That is approximately 25% of the dev share estimate.

Please register you interest below (within the next week, so we can hit the deadline) and AC will report back on whether this is a go for immediate development.

Cheers

I have two stores, combined total of over 22,000 products. I need to be able to more easily put products into multiple categories without having to edit EVERY product like the current method allows.

If you try to import products into multiple categories using pipes to seperate the categories, you can easily run the risk of reaching the Category field's data limit of 255 characters. So that option is unavailable.

What we REALLY need is a way to edit the Category, search for products that apply to that Category and insert them in mass through some kind of "select all" option.

Are others out there facing the same problem I am? Would you also like to be able to leverage the internal search function within the Admin panel to find and select products for category inclusion with the click of your mouse?

Then let's talk RevShare and voice your support for sharing the development cost associated with this programming effort.

It shouldn't cost too much. The search and select functionality is simple and already exists when using it to populate Product Lists so it's simply a matter of integrating the same existing functionality into the Category Editor.

If the benefits of rapidly adding products to multiple categories interests you, simply reply to this post and when we get a reasonable number of participants, I will request an official RevShare quote from AC.com

MartiniGuy,

www.ediblenature.com

www.bestbodyvitamins.com

Stone Edge Order Management system integration with AmeriCommerce

I use StoneEdge Order management system for our websites. It is at a nice price point (compared to OrderMotion or MOM) and has most all of the features that our company websites need. I am trying to get our sites connected and have been quoted to do the work on DevShare. I understand that they're several StoneEdge users our here using AmeriCommerce sites that could benefit from the same integration. This could drive down the cost for all of us and greatly improve the functionality. I would like to hear from other StoneEdge users.
drop downs defined by db structure

Drop down menus based on existing database structures, particularly
as structured as you guys have it, would be EXTREMELY useful and a
wonderful selling feature to your prospective clients/customers...

In a printer company's case, for example:

Choose Brand > Canon (Brother, Dell, HP, etc)
Choose Type > Inkjet (Laser, MICR, Ribbon, etc)
Choose Printer Family > BJC (could be any of the Canon printer families)
Choose Printer > BJC 4100 (again, any of the BJC printers that are in that category)

The line could be, in this situation in the db:

Canon > Inkjet > BJC > BJC 4100

or

Canon > Laser > LJC > LJC 2300 MFC

The first drop down choice would populate the second drop down choice, and so on and so on...

If anyone decided to do something like:

Shoes > Nike > Mens > Air Max
Shoes > women > adidias > strato

That could all be in pulldowns?

That would be incredibly useful.

Wishlist / gift registry - anyone want in?

I've had AC quote me on fixing the wish list to make it function like a real-time registry. The quote is 10 hours @ $150 per hour = $1500. Is anyone else interested in having this functionality soon who would be able to chip in some for it? I have all the quote details for anyone who is interested.

This will make some basic changes to the registry like removing items after they've been purchased and allowing users to update/change their registries, neither of which is available now. It will also change the look somewhat, listing two columns for each product on the list. One column is how many they want, the other is how many of that item have been purchased.

We can't add much or change much since it will change the quote and slow down the fix.

If I can get a person or three to help pay for this, AC can probably finish it soon. Otherwise, if we have to wait for me all by my lonesome, then it'll likely be a few months.

What we intended was to offer up to 5% back in loyalty on purchases made in the following tiers:

1% just has a customer loyalty for shopping with us,

a further 1% for reviewing the products purchased,

then a further 3% for modelling our clothes and sending in the pictures.

We would only issue loyalty to items bought within 14 days of the purchase so would need the ability to refuse points to cutomers out of this time scale or a automatic system where the customer needs to enter the order number which will work out if it is omore than 14 days old, if so wouldnt issue the points.

Also with regards to this feature, any pictures uploaded by the customer would get a watermark on bottom of picture saying some thinglike 'Customer Photo', and maybe also have it so we can have our manufacturers photo and also customers photos rotating in the product page or simply a link to a gallery of customers pictures,

Wold be interested in a dev share if we can get a quote and anyone else interested, please post any ideas

Quck Books Point of Sale

I'd like to set up something to get the Quick Books plug in to work with Point of Sale. If you can get in touch with me, we can figure out whether we need to go the dev-share route, or whether I'll fund it directly.
