In the footer, once you open the wysiwyg editor it automatically comments out the scripts from the html with an RAEditor prefix in the comments. It seems to be caused by the editor in AC; as a work around we created the analytics scripts as files on the server and use an external reference merge to call it in. Works fine now.

Not sure if anyone else if having this type of problem, and I'm hoping AC has some insight into this. Thanks!

So, it is showing the traffic, just not showing the AdCode query string as a page, nor associating those clicks with my PPC campaign. It mistakenly shows at that traffic as Google organic instead of Google PPC.

Naturally, I started with the assumption that this up to something completely Google Analytics related, but I have other sites on which I am using similar query string reporting, and there is no change with Google Analytics reports on those sites. The query strings are being recording, and they are showing as PPC traffic. It is too early to be sure, but it feels to me like something related to Americommerce AdCodes.

There is one more oddity adding to this mystery... about the same time Google Analytics stopped recognizing my AdCodes and recording those clicks as PPC traffic, the page /default.aspx began to show up highly trafficked in the daily reports, and it never has before. That page is never show as a live address on my site, everything points to the root /. Very strange.

If anyone else is using AdCodes on AdWords campaigns and Google Analytics, I would love to hear if you are seeing something similar.

Thanks!

Rob

Visitor count on Home page Dashboard

I've noticed that the Visitor count on the Dashboard even includes Robots (Spider) visits. They should not be included as Visitors to the website! Isn't there a way for AmeriCommerce to not count these "visits" to our sites? I know they aren't tracking Google and Yahoo spider visits, so why are these other spider crawls showing up as if they are "people" surfing out websites?

And it's also counting our own traffic when we log into AmeriCommerce and work on our sites or view our backend information. Why even have a visitor count if it's not going to be accurate? Sorry, I'm just frustrated that Google Analytics is accurate, but our own backoffice isn't.

Enough that I try to look at them a few times a week. Most don't provide a name and email address, but occassionally they do. Does anyone know if a customer has already placed an order, logs back in to check the status of their order and then logs out, if this creates the illusion of an abandonded cart? Giving you the ability to let your customers speak with you. To not repeat whats already been explained very well on Avinash's blog - you can read about it directly at http://www.kaushik.net/avinash/2008/03/4q-the-best-online-survey-for-a-website-yours-free.html

Few key points:

It is permission based and not invasive. No pop up windows.

It is short

It is extremely easy to implement

You can regulate the percentage of visitors that are offered the survey.

It is a free tool, no strings, no ads - nothing. Many of you may already be following Avinash Kaushik's blog and may have already heard of it - but I just wanted to drop in a post incase it was missed.

We implemented it last night and are already gaining insight into what visitors are coming to the site for. Although a little early for actionable insights - I am certain we will find some very useful information here.

Please Note - I am not affiliated with 4Q, iPerceptions or Avinash
Kaushik (apart from being of the same country of origin :-) - which
really means nothing in this global village.) I am just a huge fan of Web Analytics.

Enjoy!

Manjula

Bounce Rates

Hi

It only returns to the last product or category page if the cart was not modified.

Dashboard Summary - visitors

Has anyone else noticed that with the lastest updates that it has created a bug in the reporting of "Todays" visitors - it will now show total & online visitor count as being the same total all day long.

Quickbooks Integration

Is there any plan to add the Quickbooks integration as part of the base cost of the system?
