Has anyone implemented a 3rd party search into their site?

Address Book Now appearing at checkout

Did the checkout screen change automatically without me making any changes? It seems there is now an address book on multiple sites I operate. Why would an address book show up for a user who is not logged in or is not a member of the site? Is there a way of removing this?

How to see/edit design of order processing pages?

How do we go about seeing/modifying pages that are part of the cart check out process, ie View Order, My Account, Receipt, etc? I understand how to access the CSS theme templates, but how do we actually view these post-transaction pages to modify their design without actually running a real order through the cart?

Support Request Area has errors

I have been trying to put in a support request, but I keep getting this error code:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object

Anyone know what's up with that or how to avoid it? Not sure what is causing it, I'm not doing anything different.

With many Hosts their is a page or directory of websites using the product beyond http://www.americommerce.com/store/pg/80-AmeriCommerce-Web-Design-Portfolio.aspx. Its nice because the new customers/developers get to see others completed sites using the product. It also gives all of us another link pointing to our sites. Usually this is an opt-in thing, as most people like to wait until the site looks good.

Making the Public Order Comments Field bigger

When customers are placing orders there are places for them to put comments in. The area is able to take the amount of information that they are typing in. BUT, if we need to PRINT that order out all of that information that was placed in the "Public Order Comments" section is NOT printing out. I am not sure what I need to adjust to make this happen. Anyone have any suggestions?

How do I change what page is used as the homepage?

I want to use my website for a two week sale, every two weeks. So for the two weeks that it's not on, I want to show a homepage with links to twitter, facebook etc.

Any idea how to accomplish this?

Would I create a new theme and just change out the themes every two weeks?

Or, can I specify which file actually gets used as the default homepage? And then just point it to the correct file every two weeks?

Pop-up Window for a video

I was wondering if anyone is using a popup window for a video link. I have a video link that I am hosting on another server that has very little bandwidth usage. I have a link setup on my product page, however when I select the Media Pane target in the Hyperlink Manager, the action behaves identical to the _blank HTML command.

The video is in Quick Time, and when it comes up on a separate browser window it looks horrific because the little video screen is in the middle of one huge white background. Ideally, I would like the video to popup on a separate window, small enough to accomodate the media player without it looking like it's floating in the dead sea. This will allow the customer to watch the video while perusing the product information tabs, etc.

I am assuming that if a video is hosted on a separate server that the bandwidth usage is not going through the AC server, not sure if I am correct in assuming this.

How can I backup my site?

Complicated product varient layout - need thoughts

I am trying to layout some personalzation for some apparel we sell but I am getting confused. So I thought I would ask the real AC field experts. The product I am experimenting on is the following: http://safetystore.americommerce.com/store/p/1068-Woman-s-Poplin-Scrub-Top.aspx. The customer can buy it plain top or add embroidered letters, stock or custom logo, or a sewed on patch. I would like to make it as easy for the customer to fully describe what they want and give us a full description without having to call the customer to get more details. I think AC variants can do all of this but the layout has me stuck.

For instance, you can add a text box for a question but they are always at the top of the page. Can I move the text boxes down intersperced between other pull down menus and radio buttons? Changing the sort number doesn't change the placement on the page.

Can I set up two rows of buttons etc. for "Left Side" and "Right Side" options? this would illistrate the location better for the customer.

Any thoughts would be extremely Helpful

Variant Matrix Image Merge

I'm trying to use a variant matrix and adding a picture for the variant. I've found the two articles on variant images (KB#196 & 204), but am not able to successfully implement this code. In my page Themes>>Default>>Product Detail

I have placed the merge code, ##VARIANTPICMATRIX[groupname=ROC-BOH]## as shown below. Still no images. Can anyone help with the proper code placement?

Search box font size not consistent

I have customized my SearchBox snap-in input text font to be 14pt. No problem. But, when the user searches, the resulting search page still shows a tiny font in the search input box on that new page. I have looked EVERWHERE to adjust that font. Should it not be pulling in the same code from the SearchBox snap-in? I don't get it. Any help?

I have been asked to add a pop up window to the beginning of one of my micro stores. I have added a static block of info to first page of this particular micro store but they really want to get the message out so they also want a pop up window with the same info and possibly a link to another one of the micro stores. I am not familiar with scripting things and not sure how to make this work. Any suggestions?

Snap-Ins on a tab

Does anybody know how to configure so that I can display Snap-In's on a tab?

For example, I would like to show the "also purchased' snap-in as a tab on the product detail page.

I only see related products but would like to have some of the auto generated product lists shown on a product detail page.

Google Chrome

Just an FYI to those of you using Google Chrome. Google Chrome is an awesome browser, fast, and it doesn't crash or freeze up. While I have had a few minor issues with MSIE's new 8.0 version, Google Chrome has been excellent.

So far the only issue I have had with Google Chrome on the AC admin panel, is that the WYSIWYG function for the product descriptions, etc. WILL NOT WORK. If you use it and cut and paste anything into it, it will not look like what you pasted on to it. I guess the best way I have to describe this is those aweful MS Word Extensions and their final product. Lots of weird symbols, as well as lack of separation tags, tables, etc. Certainly not worth the trouble of trying to troubleshoot. If you plan to use the WYSIWYG edior, the best thing is to stick to old MSIE until AC figures out what the glitch is.

Everything else is peachy. Love the new Google Chrome very fast, easy, great appearance too. The web pages look better, take up most of the screen, and the tool bars are for the most part hidden. The right mouse button is useful on the page for code source, etc. I think that the lack of tool bars makes the browser more friendly to webpage look and feel. I like the look of both of my websites much better on Google Chrome than MSIE.

Shopping Cart Page Shows Variants Twice

I'm working on a store that currently has products with one or two variants: Size (for some clothing) and a Gift Wrap option (for all products). So some products have both variants, while others have just the Gift Wrap variant.

When the items with both variants (Size and Gift Wrap) are added to the cart, they display on the Shopping Cart pages just fine. But when the products with only one variant (Gift Wrap) are added to the cart, they're displayed there with the variant repeated twice. For instance, the variant area on the Shopping Cart page will read:

Would You Like It Gift Wrapped: No Thanks.
Would You Like it Gift Wrapped: No Thanks.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem or have any idea what might be causing this? Thanks in advance!

bad drop down behavior

Has anyone else had trouble with the drop down menus. If I put it close enough in firefox not to disappear before you can select an option, then it is covering the main menu in internet explorer.
