    Subscription/Recurring Orders

Do you support subscriptions or recurring billing?  For example, a "wine of the month" subscription where the user signs up for a program to get sent products periodically and is billed periodically as well. I was looking aronud the system and couldn't seem to find this.  Is this part of the roadmap?

We have been asked about this once or twice, but we have no current plan for it.

    Re: Subscription/Recurring Orders

I was looking for updated info on this topic of subscriptions.

When searching the knowledge base, I noticed there are now "subscription" based merges.  And on the AC Admin Console Menu, there is now a menu choice for "subscriptions - beta" under the Order Mgmt Tab.  But I can't find a knowlege base article on how it works.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to help me understand what it does and where to enter the data?

     Thanks

    Re: Subscription/Recurring Orders

I have asked a few times, but Americommerce doesn't deem this an immediate need unfortunately. They are great at adding features so hopefully this can be on their radar screen for future add-ins.

I can tell you for a fact. I had my site on another host about a year ago and had this feature. Over 20% of our monthly sales came from that feature alone. It 100% works and customers love it. Unfortunately that host had other serious problems that led us over to Americommerce, where we happily reside.

So this feature, PLUS a bonus points/loyalty program is critical to bringing the Americommerce to a comeptitive level with other carts. Overall Americommerce has the best feature set, but the competition is nipping at their heels.

    Re: Subscription/Recurring Orders

I have a situation where we want to utilize the subscription feature but with a non-definite time structure for releases.

We have a special audio book project we are currently putting together. It's a 9 part series that will be finished over a span of a few months.

We would like to pre-sell this to customers and ship them parts 1+2 ... then 3+4 when those are finished, and then 5+6, etc. We don't have a hardset time when everything will be finished, so these would be variable releases.

Is this situation one I could still make use of the subscription feature? What would be the best way to go about doing this with the way the subscription feature works now?

    Thanks for the input!

    Re: Subscription/Recurring Orders

If the total price would be the same for 3+4 and 5+6 you could probably do it.  The line items on the order would be the same each time.

When you create a subscription the Subscription List page displays the upcoming renewals.  You have to choose which ones to process to create the new orders so you would just not process them until you were ready to fulfill them.
