I am trying to setup a discount for shirts we are selling.  I could be missing the obvious, but when I edit the discount's rule (an item in the cart (muliplied) contains) i enter one item number and it works, i enter 2 items separated by a ; and the rule no longer works.  What symbol do i have to use to enter multiple item numbers in this rule??

i believe you need to treat each item as a sperate line item in the discount

... you may find it easier to put all fo these items into a category (and not put in the menu structure) and make the rule contingent off of the presence of items in that category.... its how we do it for a couple sites (but you need to use active catalog, which you may not if you are only running 1 site - we run multiple off of each installation)
