simple text tweaks to packing slip and invoice forms

Want to make some text tweaks to my invoce and packing slip forms. Another thread says it's rolling out at the first of this year (2009). Then everything goes dark and I can't figure out where to do this task. Any suggestions? My boss really wants this changed in a hurry. I feel like I'm missing the obvious.

I have this same problem. My packing slip is dark, I can't get the logo to appear. There is no documentation on how to customize. Has anyone successfully customized their packing slip? Why is it dark?
