    3rd Party Search?

Has anyone implemented a 3rd party search into their site?

    Re: 3rd Party Search?

We have yet to integrate a third party search in, but are extremely interested. We investigated solutions like Mercado, but they were extrmely expensive (especially when copared to our costs for using AC).

Are you looking at any particualr vendor? Fast, SLI, etc?

    Re: 3rd Party Search?

Can you PM me how much it cost for Mercado?   I am considering working with a company in our building.  They have tremendous semantic search capabilities and typically work with huge enterprise solutions.  However I was talking with the them about the idea of doing something like this for my site and they said they would consider it as an "interesting side project".  I don't mind being a side project if it can get me an amazing solution. I am trying to find out pricing on other solutions so I have some frame of reference. They said they would be willing to work out a deal with me but we have not discussed price yet.

they wanted over $200,000 for a 2 year term inclduing setup etc..... just a tiny bit more expensive than our AC bill ;)

    Re: 3rd Party Search?

We went ahead and implemented a third party search on our AC site and are very happy with it. We are only in the initial stages of customizations but already see some powerful results.  If anyone is interested learning more, let me know.

    Re: 3rd Party Search?

If anyone has any updates on this... we would be interested to hear them.

We are looking at 3rd party search -- espically something that creates landing pages like SLIs Site Champion...

We're concerned about the cost and the compatability with AmeriCommerce, so I am interested to hear from anyone who has looked into this more!
