    Re: Relocate the Store Password

Do you mean the login/logout link and/or form?  That is a merge code and can be placed just about anywhere.

  • ##LOGINLOGOUTLINK## - A login/logout merge that will flip flop between login and logout based on the customer's login status.
    • ##LOGINLOGOUTLINK[loginpage=login2.aspx,redirect=default.aspx,registerurl=register.aspx]##, optional parameters
    • loginpage - tells which login page to use (login.aspx or login2.aspx or other)
    • redirect - tells it where you want it to go once the user is logged in
    • registerurl - tells it where to go if they need to register for an account
  • ##LOGINMESSAGE[message=You are now logged in!]## - Only shows up when the user is logged in, gives them a welcome message, helps show they are logged in
    • ##LOGINMESSAGE[message=Welcome ##CUSTOMERFIRSTNAME##!]## - notice this is a merge within a merge. To get a comma, use the character entity code for it: & #44; (without the space after the &).
  • ##CUSTOMERLOGIN[Width=123,Class=XYZ,ButtonImage=/images/btnLogin.gif]## - Allows you to position the login form anywhere in your site.

Actually, under store settings>security, there are different references to login for pricing or whatever and requiring a store password for access - period. I understood it to be two different things. I'm considering setting up the wholesale site for retailers but not being able to acces the store at all w/o having a password. That seems different to me then what is refenreced in the KB 318.

    Re: Relocate the Store Password

You can use the same site for both pretty easily. We use differnet pricing levels based off of customer type. When a user first ocmes to teh site, they are 'end user / base price'. they then apply to be a dealer, we manually change their customer type to Dealer... they now see their whoelsale pricing, can be redicted upon login to a special landing page, as well as be shown different ocntent than the 'base price' users based off of htis designation.

    I hope this helps!

These are two different things.  If you login for pricing, then casual browsers can still see your products, but they would have to login to see wholesale pricing.  This is what I have on my site, www.knickernappies.com.  Non-retailers can see products and see MSRP, but they cannot access wholesale pricing or place orders.

To login for the whole site means the first thing customers see is a login and they can't access anything until they login.
