In AmeriCommerce your products can show multiple upsells, cross-sells or both. These different types are both considered Related Items These products can also be shown on the Shopping cart and on the Upsell/May we Suggest pages.
This article will cover:
You can add Related Items to a product using either the Product Editor or the Product Import.
In the Product Editor go to the Related tab ()
Click the Add Related Products Link on the tab
This will open a popup window for you to search for products. In this example I will add some Shirts as cross-sells for these pants.
I will also add some Upsells for other pants.
To set an Item as an Upsell simply double click the row to make it editable and check the Upsell checkbox.
Finally, click the Save button () to save the product.
To show the Cross-sells and Upsells on the Product Details Page you'll need to add either the Product Display widget or the Carousel widget to the page.
In the widget's settings you'll need to select Related Items as the Product Display Type:
This will also cause the "Show Upsell Products" setting to appear where you can choose to show Upsells and Cross-sells (Non-upsells), Just Upsells, or Just Cross-Sells. The default is to show both.
Note: The Carousel widget does not have this option and defaults to showing both.
Result:
You can also use other Product Display Types that select products automatically to help drive your customers such as "Also Purchased Items" and "Viewed this But Bought These" (available only on Carousel for now)
Another very useful related feature AmeriCommerce offers is the Upsell/May we Suggest page. This can be found in the Catalog Pages section of the theme:
This page allows you to show Related items or anything you choose after you click Add to Cart on a product.
To enable this product you'll need to go to your Global Theme Settings and find the "Show Upsells When (May We Suggest)" setting.
If you want to offer an Upsell Item at a discount, simply enter the discounted price in the Upsell Price column on the Related tab of the Product Editor.
The display will go from:
To:
If you click the product's link into the product it will retain the upsell price and show it as a Sale Price
The Product Display widget has a special Product Display Type that can be used on the Shopping Cart page that will show items that are related to any items in the cart.
To use this, you'll need to go to the Shopping Cart page in your theme and add a Product Display widget to the page.
